Confidence Building & De-Spooking Clinic with National Mounted Police Services
April 14 @ 9:00 am - April 15 @ 5:00 pm
At this 2-day clinic you will gain a new understanding of how your horse sees, thinks, and reacts. The experiences at the clinic will help you achieve a higher level of trust and respect from your horse and confidence in your horse’s ability to accomplish any task you set in front of him/her.
Over the two days, Bill Richey of National Mounted Police Services and his team will carefully break down equine vision and understanding of surroundings to help you as a rider better communicate with your horse and help them feel comfortable in any situation. He will build up “obstacles” slowly, step by step, and eventually bring everything together on day two via drill team work.
There are no failures in this clinic. Horses will walk through fire, stand for a smoke bomb, and extract a police car with sirens from a (mock) “rescue” situation. Through working in a group, Bill will individually coach each rider in need to teach softness in “asking”, proper release of pressure to guide your horse in the “right” direction, and confidence in yourself! Come and have fun!
